The Anchor at Shapwick, in Dorset, was bought by Mark Thornton at the end of March 2007. Since then, the premises have been subject to a discreet change, to make the pub area more comfortable, yet remain firmly rural in its feel.
Open fires burn in the bar during the winter months, offering added warmth & atmosphere, whilst the seating areas at the front & to the rear of the building benefit from waiter/waitress service during the warmer weather.
Our aim at The Anchor is for you to experience a relaxed visit & to offer you the best of local produce cooked by our chef Grant Dirckze & his team.
We have four real ale pumps, with a good range of local beers & a wine list offering a diverse collection of keenly priced bottles.
